Nashville soccer supporters raise nearly $1,800 for Oasis Center
NASHVILLE — The Nashville Soccer Supporters Trust as well as its membership organizations, The Roadies, The Assembly, Eastern Front and Music City Supporters, are pleased to announce a donation of nearly $1,800 to the Oasis Center’s Just Us initiative.
In honor of National Pride Month, members of the various Nashville SC supporters groups pledged a dollar amount per home goal scored by the Boys in Gold for matches played throughout the month of June. In addition, each of the groups sold hundreds of rainbow wristbands that carried the message “All Are Welcome” along with the names of each of the participating organizations.
Just Us is dedicated to helping LGBT youth achieve their full potential. Launched in 2011, the initiative aims to create alliances with like-minded organizations to end the disparities faced by LGBT youth.
The pledge drive was just one part of the national Prideraiser program. Spearheaded by supporters of both Chattanooga FC and Detroit City FC, the drive featured 860 pledges from 28 different supporters groups from around the country, raising more than $51,000 for local LGBT charities in the process. This represented the second year for the program, and the total amount represents more than a 400% increase in growth.
